Progressive Boater X –
Heats of 4 to 6 (drawn randomly) will race short sections of the river. The first race will separate the top half into an ‘A’ stream, and the bottom half into a ‘B’ stream. The second race will eliminate the bottom half and the top half will progress into the next round. In total the river will be broken down into 4 sections. The Girls heats may be different depending on numbers.
Freestyle Throw-down –
All paddlers will have 2 rides in the bottom hole to show there stuff. There will be 4 categories riders will be judged on; Biggest Air, Best Ride, Best Retro Move, and Honey Badger Award (person deemed to be giving it there all regardless of ability).
The 8 Ball Battle –
Heats of 4 to 6 (drawn randomly, men & women mix) will race from the control gates to a banner touch on river right above the ‘Devils Diner Plate’ rapid (above Cascades). Along the way racers will have to battle there way through a series of 8 Ballers (kayaks, rafts, and duos). Top 2 from each heat will progress into the next round. **If anyone would like to volunteer to be an 8 Baller please contact Brendan Bayly or Louise Urwin at Rego in the morning, or via Facebook) **
Teams Ball Race –
Teams of three will mass start from the control gates, picking up there personalized beach ball below the road bridge, and racing it to the bottom. Racers may NOT carry their ball at any point during the race. It must be thrown, hit with the paddle or shunted with the kayak. First complete team to cross the bottom hole with Their ball wins!
PLEASE REMEMBER THIS DAY IS MEANT TO BE A FUN DAY ON THE WATER WITH FRIENDS – SO GET OUT THERE AND HAVE FUN!
