This just in from the Whitewater XL…
WhitewaterXL is extending the invitation to the top 32 fastest paddlers who competed in the Kaituna Time Trail to compete in the WhitewaterXL Waka Kayak Boater Cross on Sunday 27 November. Below is the schedule for race day along with additional training slots (free of charge) during the week. Everyone must complete accreditation prior to training or competing.
Training Days
Tuesday 22nd November
0800 – 0900 Boater X (NO slalom boats)
1300 – 1400 OPEN TRAINING (Boater X only, NO slalom boats)
Wednesday 23rd November
0800 – 0845 Boater X (NO slalom boats)
Sunday 27th November
0800 – 0930 Boater X open training
Sunday 27th of November
WhitewaterXL Waka Kayak Boater Cross
0800 – 0930 Boater X open training
0800 – 1000 Boater X accreditation
0930 – 1000 Athlete briefing (boats as per Adidas Sickline rules 2016, no hands off paddles, no paddle over competitor boats)
1000 – 1700 WhitewaterXL Junior and WhitewaterXL Waka Kayak races will run concurrently but not in the same heats.
WhitewaterXL Waka Kayak athletes will be seeded based on slalom and time trial results, with four in each race. Top two go through to next round.
Four off the start ramp, position randomised.
Same finish as the slalom course.
WhitewaterXL Junior Boater Cross Championships 2016 (no prize money but spot prizes)
WhitewaterXL Waka Kayak Boater Cross (1st $3000, 2nd $2000, 3rd $1000, 2 classes only) AND spot prizes
